April MPB Club Induction #2
Club induction for course graduates
Available spots
Service Description
The club has generously offered to run a second induction this Saturday! 3-4pm This is for archers who have successfully completed a course with Rogue Archery, and ready to join the local club! The next step is for you to join your local archery club, Mt Petrie Bowmen (MPB). We have organised an induction day at MPB Date: Saturday 11th April. Time: 3-4pm (please arrive 10-15 minutes early) Place: Mount Petrie Bowmen, 1485 Old Cleveland Rd, Belmont. What to bring: Closed in shoes, parent/guardian if U18, archery equipment - finger tab, arm guard, quiver Cost: $20 on the day to pay for equipment hire and sign-in Please note: There are limited numbers that the club can process at this induction. You MUST book to attend. _________________________________________________ This induction is to provide all the necessary information you need about joining the archery club. You will be given a tour of the club, taught how the various shoots work, how to sign-in and what shooting options are available to you. There will also be a brief assessment where you will be required to demonstrate your understanding of the safety protocols, line discipline and basic technique to competently hit a target at 18m. (Notwithstanding, it is not a requirement to shoot all bullseyes.) This will not be a problem if you follow what you have been taught in our classes, however, it is imperative that you follow these rules strictly. Members of archery clubs (whether MPB or anywhere else) must be capable of following the safety protocols and acting autonomously without the need for constant supervision. All of the necessary equipment will be available for you to use, but please bring along any of your own archery gear. You will be required to use a finger tab during this induction. _________________________________________________ Once you join the archery club, there are many options available to you depending on your interest. Archers have the opportunity to shoot recurve, compound or traditional bows, and can shoot at a social level, or strive for major events and competitions. The choice is up to you! The MPB membership cost is $215 per year for youth, and $315 for adults, which includes membership to the club, and affiliation with both Archery Australia (AA) and South Queensland Archery Society (SQAS). If you have any other questions, as always please feel free to reach out to Will.
