ROOKIE LEAGUE!
Saturday Mornings 10am
The Rookie Archery League is one of our most exciting programs. It's designed for archers who are no longer beginners, and are looking at working towards competitions!
It's the perfect place to shoot in a friendly competitive environment as you build up your skills!.
The competition format is designed to expose archers to proper competition format for ranking and matchplay, whilst they develop their technical skills, strength and consistency.
It's perfectly suited to archers within their first 12-24 months of experience in archery.
Who
Please note that unlike the Beginner Archery League, the Rookie League is not a structured coaching program. It's designed for archers who are already members of a club, and are building up their skills towards competition!
To be eligible for the Rookie League, archers must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully completed the Beginner Archery League or similar program
- Member of an archery club OR have completed an induction with membership pending
- Shoot a recurve bow (sorry, no compound division at this time)
If you are unsure if you are eligible for the Rookie League, please reach out to us before entering and we'd be happy to point you in the right direction.
Format
The Rookie League is an 6-8 week league.
Each week, archers shoot a scored 30 arrow ranking round, followed by matchplay shoot-offs. The winners of each week will score points towards the overall rankings, and Rookie finalists!
The round is shot at 18m, the official World Archery distance for indoor archery.
There are no age or gendered divisions. Archers are handicapped based on their ranking scores.
